Thirteen Lake St. Louis mixed doubles teams competed in the popular Memorial Day Compass Draw on Saturday, May 24, 2003. This year the compass draw was run as a scramble. Play began at 9:00 a.m. A comfortably cool and cloudy day made an enjoyable tournament for all. Awards, prize give-aways and lunch finished the day's activities.

Lake St. Louis Memorial Day Compass Draw Tennis Tournament
Fourteen mixed doubles teams competed in beautiful, sunny, mid 70-degree weather, playing four, one set matches en route to one of the final compass matches. First place champions in the East division, Julie Gordon and Curt Juergens, defeated runner-ups Lisa Rutherford and Al Clark 6-2 to capture the championship trophies.

Warm-ups began around 7:00 a.m. Play started at 8:00 a.m. and continued until approximately 1:00 p.m., at which time, trophies were awarded and prizes given out to participants.
All participants receive qualifying points toward the Lake St. Louis/Whitmoor Challenge Cup event. The weather was excellent, in the upper 70's, sunny with a slight breeze. Great company and good food made for a great start to the 2005 tournament events.
