Challenge Cup Team Tennis Scoring System
EVENTS:
(1) 3 Women's Singles, (2) 3 Men's Singles (3) 3 Women's Doubles, (4) 3 Men's Doubles, (5) 3 Mixed Doubles, The home team has the option of changing the order of the first four events. The Mixed Doubles event shall be the final (fifth) event.

GAME: Game scoring is no-ad (first team to win four points, wins the game). At deuce  (3-3), the receiver chooses the side from which the serve will be received (deuce or ad court). For mixed doubles, the serve at deuce (3-3) is always gender to gender. Each game counts as one point in the team's cumulative match score. Players change sides after every four games. Lets are played and either partner may return the let serve.

LET SERVE: Serves that touch the net, strap, band, or are otherwise considered good will be played. In doubles, either player on the receiving side can return the serve.

SET: Each set is won by the first team to reach five games. A 7-point Tiebreaker is played at if the games reach 4-4.

TIEBREAKER: If a set reaches 4-4, a 7-point Tiebreaker is played to decide the winner of the set. The first team to win 7 points by a margin of 2 wins a tiebreaker. Players change sides after 4 points. The Tiebreaker counts as one game and decides the outcome of the set.

MATCH: A match is a contest between Lake St. Louis and Whitmoor that consists of fifteen events (3 men's and women's singles, 3 men's and women's doubles and 3 mixed doubles) plus overtime, if any, and a Supertiebreaker, if necessary. No team member may play more than two events in the Challenge Cup match. If a team does not field enough players to play all events, those events shall be forfeited and 5 points awarded to the opposing team for each event forfeited.

OVERTIME: Overtime eliminates the possibility of the final sets becoming exhibitions. If the team ahead in the cumulative score wins all three final sets, then that team is the winner. If, however, the trailing team wins any two of the final three final event sets, the match is sent into overtime. The selected fifth event type shall be used for Overtime. One of the courts (1, 2 or 3) and the corresponding players/teams from each side will be randomly selected to compete. Play continues until either (a) the leading team wins one game, or (b) the trailing team ties the match score. If the score becomes tied, the match is decided by a Super-Tiebreaker.

SUPERTIEBREAKER: In the event of a tied match at the conclusion of Overtime, a 10-Point Tiebreaker shall be played to decide the outcome of the match. As in Overtime, one of the fifth event courts (1, 2 or 3) and the corresponding players/teams from each side will be randomly selected to compete in the Super-Tiebreaker. The first player/team to win at least 10 points by a margin of 2 (10-8) shall determine the Champion of the Challenge Cup competition.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Once the lineup has been set (prior to the start of all matches), no substitutions shall be made, except to replace an injured player, as agreed upon by both coaches.
